Creating an instance on Shapehost cloud computing provider

Welcome to Shapehost, your trusted cloud computing provider!

In this article, we will guide you through creating an instance on our platform. An instance is a virtual machine that runs your applications and services, one of the core components of cloud computing.

With Shapehost, you can choose the location, plan, distribution, network type, authentication type, and more to meet your specific needs.

Step 1: Click on the "Create" button

To start, click on the "Create" button located on the main page of Shapehost. This will take you to the next page, where you can select the type of resource you want to create.

In this case, select "Instance."

Step 2: Choose a Location

Once you have clicked on "Instance," you will be taken to a page where you can select the location for your instance.

We currently offer the following locations:

  • New York
  • Florida
  • London
  • Toronto
  • Frankfurt
  • Amsterdam
  • Roubaix
  • Singapore
  • Hong Kong
  • Helsinki
  • Mumbai
  • Tokyo
  • Sao Paulo.

You can choose the location that best fits your needs.

Step 3: Select a Plan

After you have selected a location, it's time to choose a plan.

We offer three main categories of plans:

  • Standard
  • CPU Optimized
  • Memory Optimized

Each category has eight plans to choose from, so you can pick the one that fits your requirements.

Step 4: Choose a Distribution

The next step is to choose a distribution.

We offer:

  • Fedora
  • CentOS
  • Ubuntu
  • Debian
  • Windows Desktop
  • Windows Server.

Select the one that you prefer, and that fits your needs.

Step 5: Select a Network Type

Now, it's time to select a network type. We have two options: basic and advanced. The basic network type assigns a public IP address to your instance and does not have a private network. The advanced network type is a VPC network equipped with a private network, firewall, and load balancer features.

You can choose the network type that best fits your needs.

Step 6: Select an Authentication Type

The next step is to select an authentication type. You can choose between an ssh key or a password. If you select an ssh key, you will need to provide your ssh key, which will be installed on the instance you deploy.

Step 7: User-Data (Linux-based OS only)

For instances deployed with a Linux-based operating system, we also offer the option to provide user-data. This allows you to provide scripts that can be executed at instance deployment.

Step 8: Select the Number of Instances

The last step is to select the number and the name of instances you want to create, which can range from 1 to 10. Once you have made your selections, click the "Create Instance" button.

Our system will check if you have enough credit, and if you need more credit, it will ask you to add the necessary amount. If you have enough credit, the deployment process will begin, and you can see your instances once they are ready.

If you select a password instead of an ssh key, the password will be displayed.

In conclusion, creating an instance on Shapehost is a simple and straightforward process. With our platform, you can choose the location, plan, distribution, network type, authentication type, and more to meet your specific needs.
